Simple Grilled Porterhouse
A great steak doesn't need much — just good beef, a hot grill and a little patience. This is the simplest way to cook a grass-fed porterhouse, T-bone or sirloin from Hunter Natural, letting the clean, natural flavour of our pasture-raised Speckled Park beef do the talking. The trick with grass-fed steak is not to overcook it: it's leaner than grain-fed, so it cooks a touch faster. Rest it properly and you'll have steakhouse-quality eating at home.
Cut: Porterhouse/T-Bone/Sirloin
Ingredients
- Porterhouse steaks (2.5cm thick)
- Sea salt
- Cracked black pepper
- Nothing else
Method
- Take steaks out of the fridge 30 minutes before cooking
- Pat completely dry with paper towel
- Season both sides with salt and pepper
- Get your BBQ or pan screaming hot
- Cook 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare
- Rest for 5 minutes before serving
The grass-fed difference: Our beef has deeper flavour, so it doesn't need fancy marinades. Let the meat talk.
